I finished this up a couple months ago but I didn’t want to blow any teasers for the record. I am only responsible for the illustration. Type and logo was added afterwards. I’m happy with how the cover came together. I can’t wait to hear their new tracks to go with it.
For updates and pre-orders on the record,
Some newer work
I’ve been experimenting and trying out some editorial-styled illustration this semester so this is an example of that. Although the concept is rather broad, I used a lot of NYC symbolism, specifically the character, based on the installation characters in the 14th st subway station.

This is a flyer for a Terror show coming up in December. I will be selling 3-color screen prints so find me there and bring this piece home.
Sick People
A buddy of mine is putting together a really interesting art collective zine that will focus on several creative people he or I know. So far this issue will have close to 20 contributions ranging in creative writing, photography, illustration, skateboarding, graffiti and the related sub-cultures. Its a nice blend of material and will be printed in all black&white. I decided to put together this cover which may only be available in a limited edition run of the zine. If you’re interested in picking one up or enjoy any of the above genres, check out his blog in the meantime, http://weareallsickpeople.com/
I’ve been balancing school projects, a couple record covers and trying to go to as many shows and galleries as possible. Plenty of fun stuff coming up.
Well Fed
My buddy runs a really cool blog called Well Fed that pertains to a variety of photography, music, skateboarding, graffiti, clothing and design. He’s currently working on a book that will be full of these drawings he’s been pumping out. He’s balancing a lot of personal work and some really interesting collaborations so he constantly updates. Bare-boned interesting design.
Disposable
Here’s a few shots taken with a disposable camera. I know I probably could’ve gotten this same filtered look if I had an iPhone. Unfortunately, only half my roll came out. I guess that’s the fun and misfortune in using those cheap cameras. You have zero control other than snapping and turning on a flash. These were some cool shots that summed up a day of skating. I was never a great photographer so I guess these are more candid shots.
Long Gone Lonesome Blues
Taking a break from hardcore bands and artwork, I wanted to do something classic. Hank Williams Senior is one of my favorite country artists so I felt he needed something fresh and exciting. So this is what happens when his music meets my hand.
Salon makeover
Back in Syracuse, I also painted Dejon’s Hair Salon but with a little different approach. Unlike the typical tough guys and letter forms I’m used to, I went for a classier look and Greek Street theme. The main mural was a nice coverup of the unfinished paint job they had hidden behind a curtain backdrop. So now, they can encourage attention rather than stray from it. I threw in a few filler grape leaves between some of the mirrons and traditional columns. Like I said, it was different for me, and it came out better than I expected.
I start my senior year of school tomorrow, which will commence a long body of work to come. Somehow, I’ll have about 20-30 finished pieces by december. I will definitely have plenty of new posts to follow with all of them. Maybe I’ll get around to some progress shots and process posts.
